Located in central Kihei, the Maui Research & Technology Park encompasses over 400 acres of entitled and master-planned lands.
Opened in 1991, the Park provides more than 180,000 square feet of existing office, lab, and data center space and is home to dozens of high technology and professional service companies, as well as government projects. Companies, organizations, and agencies bring a variety of capabilities to Maui in fields including computer science, information technology, high performance computing, space surveillance, health care, construction, and innovations in craft brewing. Signature occupants include the Air Force, the Maui High Performance Computing Center, Boeing, Centauri, Pacific Disaster Center, Maui Research and Technology Center, Maui Economic Development Board, the Small Business Development Center, Goodfellow Brothers, and the Maui Brewing Company. The Park is also home to Kihei Charter School, the only K-12 public charter school on Maui.
The Park completed an update of its Master Plan in 2016 and is bringing to life its work/live/play vision for the mixed-use community. Expanded commercial and business activities coupled with residential options in a walkable and bikeable setting are features of the revitalized Master Plan. The Park offers unmatched flexibility in use for the island of Maui.
